Brown Deer Road Sanitary Sewer Replacement: The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewage District will soon begin the reconstruction of sanitary sewer infrastructure on Brown Deer Road between Regent Road and the Union Pacific railroad. Below is a tentative timeline and impacts for the project. The project is expected to begin on January 16, 2023.
- Stage 1 – January/February – south side of Brown Deer Road closed. Eastbound Brown Deer Road from Regent Rd to the railroad tracks will be closed. Road access to Bayside Garden Center will be available throughout construction.
- Stage 2 – March – Portions of the Regent Road/Brown Deer Road intersection as well as the south side of Brown Deer Road will be closed. The south side of Regent Road and Brown Deer Road Intersection will be closed. Eastbound Brown Deer Road from Regent Rd to the railroad tracks will be closed. Road access to Bayside Garden Center will be available throughout construction
Traffic to Bayside Garden Center will be available throughout construction. With any construction, the stages are fluid as construction progresses and subject to weather.

I-43 Project: The I-43 North-South Project located between Silver Spring Drive and WIS 60 is currently in the early engineering design phase.
I-43 North-South Freeway Corridor Study – South End Modernization: An animation for the proposed modernization to six lanes on Interstate Highway 43 from north of Bender Road to north of the Good Hope Road interchange.

Construction on the Wisconsin DOT I-43 Project, from Silver Spring Drive in Glendale to WIS 60 in Grafton will begin in late 2021. The project is scheduled to conclude in 2025. Work will begin in and around Bayside beginning in late 2021. For more info on the project schedule, please visit the I-43 project website.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT) began the noise barrier public involvement process on the I-43 North-South project in Fall 2020. This included direct mailings to those in the immediate vicinity of the potential barriers, a project video explaining the noise barrier process, and certified mailing packages, including ballots, to those residents who were identified by the DOT as benefitted receptors. 106 properties were eligible to vote with 71 receptors participating where 62 voted in favor of the wall and 9 properties voted against.
