The Bayside Citizens Police Academy is a community relations-based program designed for the citizens of Bayside. The program aims to provide an inside look at law enforcement operations and foster a better understanding of police work.
The Citizens Police Academy is designed to give an inside look at the values, philosophies, and operations of the Department, while at the same time serving as an open forum for questions, discussion, and exchange of ideas. Our hope is that participants will learn more about our department, but that we will also learn about them and how we can work together to better serve all residents of Bayside.
A maximum of 10 participants will navigate the program as a cohort, learning alongside fellow community members.
Sessions will be held on specified Wednesday evenings from 6-8pm. The Village will hold a graduation reception at 5:45pm on Thursday, December 19 and a graduation ceremony at 6pm at that evening’s Board of Trustees meeting.
The application for the Bayside Citizens Police Academy is now open and will close on Friday, September 20. More information regarding specific dates, content, and applying can be found within the brochure.
